The Farce of Emissions Intensity

Earth In BalanceEarth In Balance
Recently, nations and their spokespersons have begun bandying about new numbers, grabbing headlines with ambitious seeming reductions based on a new measurement called "emission intensity".

The public is being deceived by this type of jargon and manipulation of the issues. The real issue is our civilisation's use of resources to promote greed, and the subsequent pollution and degradation of our air, water, and land.

Send me to Copenhagen

EDIT: THANK YOU for your help!
I'm back from the COP-15, and will be uploading my report very soon.

Dear All,

The link to donate is here!

By Amma's grace, I (Link) have been selected to be one of the 20 member team of Indian Youth Delegates to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-15) in December, this year!

Ubuntu 9.04 on Dell Vostro 1510 Mic Problems

I've been running Ubuntu on my Dell Vostro 1510 ever since I got it. Ubuntu has lasted, while my XP partition and my MacOS X (yes, it worked, and almost worked like a charm) have all been requisitioned for higher purposes. But I never (until now) managed to get Ubuntu to work perfectly... there was always one small nagging problem... the Microphone.

So I've finally taken the GRE. And it was an interesting journey; I hope you find it amusing and thought provoking.

A few words to those of you lucky enough not to have to travel much to take the GRE: you're lucky. Me, here in India, it's a little different. The nearest GRE testing center is just 2.5 hours away, if traffic permits.

Ubuntu Studio

Recently upgraded my plain vanilla Ubuntu Jaunty to Ubuntu Studio. I was pretty worried that I would miss something, because Ubuntu Studio comes as a separate distribution. As it turned out, all I had to do was open synaptic and mark all the ubuntustudio packages to be installed, and wait all night.

Welcome to my site!!!

I'm busy studying for the GRE right now, so you will start to see many GRE-related features popping up, for example, the list of intriguing words! I have got to memorize them somehow!
